Our School Has Blocked Access To The Local Disk And Has Removed All Links To It, So Even If We Type C:/ In Windows Explorer We Get Blocked.
Is There Anyway To Bypass These Blocks And Access The Local Disk?
Note That There Is Also Software Restrictions So We Cannot Run Any EXE.
Thanks
I'm assuming they let you put CDs in right? If so, just boot into any live linux distrobution (should probably use Ubuntu, as it's the easiest) and then you can modify C:\ all you want.
ya that ill definitely help.
Somehow They Have Disabled Booting VIA Disk. Any Other Ideas?
depends what u need to do, if u just need to search you could just use cmd and use commands like cd, dir, run, copy, del.
if cmd dont work, use command
another way we used to use was just shortcuts
If you can get into command prompt try this or create a *.bat file:
start \\Target\C$
or
start \\Target\ADMIN$
That will attempt to get you in C:\ of even better ADMIN share, you'll get prompted with a logon screen, so you could try Username with Administrator or Guest with a blank password (it may work)
Or try going into IE of Mozzila w/e and Type: Control panel and hit return and create an Admin account from their, or try typing ftp://localhost, you may get some suprising info that you can build on... or lastly try downloading (something that'll help you) I will imagine either downloads are blocked or it won't let you install in a certain directory, it's usually the latter, so just change the default directory to something else in an attempt to confuse the security control.
Ohh... one last thing, reboot the box, or make it crash somehow, then tell them the computer crashed, they'll log you in, so hopefully she/he will use admin login and all you have to do is shoulder surf (well saying that if you're logged in as admin you'll be able to do w/e you want)
good lck.
CMD IS Disalbled And None Of Those Work. Also Shortcuts To The Local Disk Dont Work Either
(Assuming you can't get into the BIOS)
Press F12 during boot to bring up an alternate boot device menu -- if you get it, then boot to your live Linux CD.
u can sit in ur home and cry
i know a way how to do it as your situation is exactly the same for me at my school. It has something to do with the network cable when ur logging on but im not going to tell you unless you can persuade me to.

And also if you find a way to boot linux from the pcs at your school i would advise you not to because the IT department found out that i did once (a kid saw me using Kubuntu and they went to head of IT and told them i was running a virus lol

) and i am on my last warning now (after being caught using proxies). But i would agree that ophcrack is the best way to get administrative access.
