Hi, i have two suggestions :

1- Our posting/opening new threads permission should be disabled in the Tutorials section in order to avoid making useless threads or those threads that doesn't fit in this section, and if any admin/mod see a certain thread that fit he should move it Biggrin

2- No post count should be given in these sections "Introductions" and "The Lounge" because usually the post count reflects the knowledgeable of a certain member and it's obvious when someone posting something like "welcome aboard" or any other threads/posts in The Lounge that doesn't mean he has a good knowledge.

I'm sorry if i did something wrong Unsure Unsure Unsure
Erm...you just terribly offended most of the posters here.
I agree with you about second suggestion.

Well sometimes there are some intelligent posts in the lounge, although some are spam

And as for number 1...where do you post a tutorial instead?
Mods don't have the time to search the whole forum for tutorials
I think the tut section should have a sub-forum. The best tuts will be moved there.

Agree. I think it HF should have that and something like a Thread of the week/day and a link on the homepage to a list of the best/most important/most vieuwed threads that are made that day/week/month?. So people can know what they have missed without searching. And some threads should be closed like "Phishing for dummies", people keep posting in there, which keeps bringin the thread to the top again and again.
Post count in lounge being disabled is something I have seriously considered. It's probably going to happen eventually. I wouldn't stop introductions though.

As for tuts area...you can report posts that are not appropriate as it will get moved. Having it locked would only discourage people and create more work for staff.
We were saying that, the tut section will have a sub-forum where making new threads will be disabled. The best tuts will be picked by you (Omni) and mods with/without suggestions of members.
I am not liking the disabling of post counbt in the lounge... that's bring my post count down to 50 or less..
