I have these .zip files here that have a password. They aren't mine so I have no idea what the password could ever be (they are my mother's and I am just very curious to see what's in them - just to see - no harm meant; because she doesn't remember what the passwords are actually).
So I was wondering is there some simple way to hack passworded .zip archives.
Oh, OS is Windows XP SP2.
There is a winrar password cracker but it puts in all the words in the dictionary, so it could take days months years or even not at all.
Just going to have to remember.

So there's no code or something you can enter when it prompts for password to (crack)open it?

Yea looking at your problem I would just put a keylogger on the computer and wait till she uses a password somewhere. even if it isn't on that many people I have found use the same password over and over
