White Lotus is a new name for me, and I took it because of my upcoming project, White Lotus Operating System (WLOS). WLOS will be the best of all OS worlds on a single DVD. My project is to create an operating system that seamlessly integrates Windows, Mac, and Linux. This will of course be an installable operating system. It will not be upgradeable at this point from any previous OS, to install this will require a wiped partition. I know that it is possible to currently do this on an install of any above operating systems through virtual hypervisors and this is more than just that.

Overview of Ultimate Project: WLOS goes a bit above and beyond making the UI of utmost importance as well as preinstalled applications presetup for perfect compatibility. The UI desktop will look a bit like a cross between Vista and Mac, with the Mac taskbars at the top and bottom of screen, the Windows taskbar on the Left side of the screen, and the linux taskbar on the right side of the screen. Applications will of course consist of every hacking tool ever needed, these being between Linux and Windows, as well as the usualls like power/magic iso, AVG, Daemon, Office, torrent clients, etc... I will add as many applications as possible to fit on a 4.7gb DVD in it's compressed form. The best of addons and hotfixes will also be included as well as an extensive driver library among all OSs, which will be imparitive in cross OS compatibility. In the end, think Black Edition meats a more updated UI with seamless hypervisor integration, far more drivers, far more applications, far more OS fixes, and by far more capabilities when it comes to hacking (especially since linux is integrated).

Current Progress: So far I have started with Windows XP, slipstreamed sp3, injected every hotfixe since the creation of sp3, added about 100 addons such as better calulator etc.., added many driver packs equating to roughly 55,000 added drivers (after duplicates were deleted), I have finishied injecting the basic UI that will be used, I have included an experimental directx 10 distro for windows xp, and I have begun work on the virtual hypervisors.

Suggestions: I want to hear back from the community if anyone is interested in WLOS, I will of course, if requested, make this public. What I want to know is, and there is of course a poll for this to come later, which distro of Linux everyone wants me to use as my basis for the Linux virtual hypervisor. I will of course use OS X Leopard and I have already stated XP will be the base. If anyone wants to know why I am adding Mac, it is just-in-case to be completely honest. For example, the edge seen on real Macs for media won't really exist here since it won't be true ppc. However, there are some programs only for Mac that I like quite a bit, besides the known media applications, there are applications like Cardographer for example that are very useful.

I would like to add this, I will not currently give credits to the people who have created some of these addons, driver packs, and so on, because there simply isn't enough time. The final project will have credits that will even extend a warm thank you to Microsoft and Apple.

The objective, once again, is to do what has been done in the past, improve on it, add to it, then package it into one easy to use DVD.

All criticisms and suggestions are welcome,
White Lotus
Sounds interesting, although i would never commit to it because in the end i am a windows faithful... who is violating fidelity by playing with Linux, but tht is not the point. If your actually making a new OS i would be more than happy to play with it and comment on it.
Wow dude, this sounds amazing!! You must be truly talented, I had been messing around with operating systems lately, but dude . . .

Yeah, I would love to see this public, and I would be the first one to test-run it if you need. Do you plan on making this free or charging people?

Oh, and for the Linux question -- If you're including a bunch of hacking tools and stuff anyway, You should definitely have BackTrack, as a runnable image at the very least (since it isn't meant to be a standalone OS). But I am experimenting a little bit with Ubuntu and I think it's spectacular, though someone with more experience w/ other distros might have more insight.
lol Beta Tester huh Knight? hehe
Sugar-Coats are bad ^_^

Nice OS Plan,
bet it won't be the best though. I've been waiting for an OS from a member of this community already.

Although he is taking much time haha ^ ^
Good Luck to you.
