in this picture i have my ubuntu (inux) in virtual pc and my original is windows XP thats perfect if you want to test your Virus , etc becouse everithing you do in the virtual machin NEVER!! will affect your real PC
only you have to give some of Space but you cant eliminate the virtual machine and recuperated
