There is a program called bootxp which can do it.
have u ever heard of how to change your start menu icon from start.. u can change it to anything you like, you just need 2 make a backup of explorer.exe.. i will write up a tut on it when i get the time :)
you can also use Resource hacker
just download tune up utilities 2007 and you change&create your own bootscreens,log on screens,icons,themes...anything you like...

I'm using Windows XP Professional by gamerman comes with loads of apps and themes ect, it's quite nice on the eyes heh :)
will any of this harm or corrupt original Windows files and previous configs?
No, it makes backups :), or if your doing it yourself make sure you back everything up, just to be safe :)
