Hmm, so if I were to get a windows computer on a virtual drive.
Would I be able to install a SHIT LOAD of firewalls and make my internet rout through that before I can connect.

It would be a good firewall alright :P

Possible, but tricky and impractical. When are you going to use that FTP server?

Sorry, I don't need it anymore though :P

But do you have any idea on how?
it would b easier to go grab a $5 case+parts and get HDD a lil bigger than what u need
so about $40 over all
and just use that to fire wall, saving u memory and HDD space
I'de rather save some money :P
If you know how.

Well, you could've told me earlier with the FTP ;)

And with the firewall - simple. If you find out the LAN IP of your VirtualPC - just set that as your default gateway, then in the virtual PC (assuming that it's going to be windows) there will be an option of allowing other computers to connect to the internet through that windows system > enable that, and then in the virtual PC just set your default gateway as your router. However, this isn't going to protect you very well, because someone could just as easily tell your computer to not use the virtual PC, so as long as your computer is physically connected to either the router, or a switch connected to a router, you aren't safe. Follow Ikeo's advice and put a physical firewall in between your router and your PC or switch, using BSD or SmoothWall for the OS.

So, it would protect me when it is using the virtual box, right?
To a degree - though not enough for my liking.

If you have many firewalls running at the same time, some of them wouldent allow others to run. So, not going to be that easy to install. Also, if you have over 5 Firewalls, dont you think it would take some time to connect to the internet (because of firewalls scanning packets).
