Q. What is a Crew or Clan?
A. It's a group of like-minded people that want to work together toward a common goal.
Q. How do I start a Crew?
A. Best thing to do is to start a thread in the Recruit area. Be sure to post what your goals are and what you expect from members. An application might be good too.
Q. What qualifies me to have a private crew forum?
A. You must have at least 3 active members willing to be in your crew. Active members will have at least 100 posts each and be a member longer than 2 weeks.
Q. I have my crew ready now what?
A. You send me a PM with the following information:
1. Crew Leader(s) (yes you can have multiple leaders)
2. Crew Name
3. Crew Forum Icon (50x50 image)
4. Crew Group Image (136 x 42 pixels) (for those wishing to use the group display)
5. Crew startup member names
6. Crew forum desription (only visible to your own crew)
Q. What do I get as a Crew Leader?
A. You will get a hidden forum that you and your clan can post in. The forum will only be visible by staff and your crew.
Q. Why should I have a forum here instead of my own?
A. Good question. Because we have a large base of members here. Because we are not a free host that will close you down. Because you don't have to worry about how to run a forum.
Q. How do I join a clan?
A. In your User CP there is a link for Group Memberships. From there you will see all the publically joinable groups, their leader, and a link to join. Group leaders do not get notification of your request so I recommend you PM them.
Q. How do I know if I was accepted?
A. It's up to the group leader to notify you or not. If you are accepted you should see their crew forum as a Sub Forums in "Crews and Clans".
Q. Is there a limit to how many crews I can join?
A. Not really but crew leaders might have rules about how many you can be a part of.
Q. Can I change my display group so that my clan image displays?
A. Yes you can in your Group Memberships area. It shouldn't effect your site permissions but if it does please start a thread and notify me.
Q. If I am group leader what can I do?
A. As a group leader you have control over who is and is not in your crew. You can add people manually in Group Membership area. You can also approve or deny applications there.
Q. What happens if I don't want someone in my crew anymore?
A. You can remove them. That will be within your power as well as your decision.
Q. A member of my crew was banned from HF what can I do?
A. Nothing. If you don't want your crew removed I suggest you don't make yourself a nuisance to us.
Q. What do I do if I have a problem?
A. You make a thread in the "Crew Questions, Answers, and Discussion" area. Do not send me PM's unless it's a private matter.
Q. Can we have a custom group image?
A. Yes but you must use the attached background for it's origin. I reserve the right to refuse anything ugly.
Q. Our clan wants to start our own site is that allowed?
A. Yes and no. Any group starting a site with a forums will have its forum here closed and it's group dismantled. The no spam policy goes for everyone. You are welcome to have a site that doesn't have a forum though.
